We participated in our Second Annual Habitat for Humanity Build Day on Thursday, April 9, 2015. We traded in our business attire for hard hats and safety goggles for the day, and helped do our part to help Habitat for Humanity eliminate poverty housing in our local area.

HRDQ Making a Difference with Kiva.org

HRDQ provides each HRDQrew member with some money to loan on Kiva.org. Kiva is a non-profit organization with a mission to connect people through lending to alleviate poverty. Kiva lets individuals lend as little as $25 to help create opportunity around the world. They partner with existing microfinance institutions, and these organizations, known to Kiva as Field Partners, have expertise in microfinance and help facilitate Kiva loans on the ground. Field Partners know their local area and clients and do all the leg work required to get Kiva loans to the entrepreneurs posted on Kiva.org.

HRDQrew's 1st Annual Habitat for Humanity Build Day!

The HRDQrew participated in our first-ever Habitat for Humanity Build Day on June 11, 2014. Partnering with caring individuals and organizations, Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County constructs simple, decent, affordable homes, and empowers hardworking, low-income families to become homeowners by providing no-interest mortgages with which to buy them. Habitat for Humanity is also involved in neighborhood revitalization initiatives, providing home rehabilitation services for existing, low-income homeowners living in substandard housing, as well as family services that guide prospective homeowners along the path to homeownership and help qualified and non-Habitat homeowners through the home-repair process.
